In June 2005 in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region has been created and registered KarpatSmoly LLC and established the urea-formaldehyde glue production of modern technical and technological levels, that produces the glue of E-1 class. This glue is used in the manufacturing of wood chip board, form which in turn the furniture for everyday needs of apartment buildings and businesses is produced.
According to the sanitary standards used in the manufacturing of furniture the urea-formaldehyde glue of E-1 class is practically safe for humans.
Currently a large number of woodworking enterprises of Ukraine used to produce the chipboard glue of lower quality, with the high formaldehyde emissions.The furniture made of such low quality wood chip boards can be determined by the specific smell of formaldehyde, which causes adverse effects on the human health.
The urea-formaldehyde glue of E-1 class produced by KarpatSmoly LLC is imported onto some woodworking enterprises of Western Ukraine from Poland, Slovakia and Hungary aiming to release quality products, that have no adverse effect on consumer health. Italian plant producing urea glue formed on the principle of a closed cycle and does not cause adverse effects on geological, aquatic environment, flora and fauna and environmental technological environments.
KarpatSmoly LLC is able, if necessary, of a short term increase of the production capacity of the urea glue from 24000 tons up to 49000 tons per year using the technology of the Italian firm.
In accordance to the signed contracts the investments were worth about 10 mln USD.
The project made it possible to solve a number of important issues, particularly:
involving the investors into Ukrainian economy;
forming of new sources of revenue to the budgets of different levels;
creating about 80 new jobs;
production of environmentally safe products that meet European quality requirements;
satisfaction of the market needs for this type of product.
